Canva App
Canva is a free app that can be used on both iPad and iPhone. It can also be accessed on a computer via https://www.canva.com/app. Canva is great because it can be used in a variety of ways. It is great for creating posters, flyers, handouts, invitations, reminders, social media designs, presentations, and so much more. Despite being free some of the design options and templates within the app cost $1, but there are still plenty of free design options to choose from!
Canva has a great interactive tutorial available after you create an account that shows you and has you do all the basics you need to know to start designing. However, there are other tutorials available as well. This app is also very easy to use and could be used for personal use as well as professionally. I think students of all ages would enjoy this app, too. It is engaging and would be great to use for projects and presentations because there are a variety of ways that students could present what he or she learned. As a teacher, I could see myself using Canva for posters, flyers, and notes/reminders. In addition, it is a great teacher resource because it provides multiple lesson plans that go along with the app. For personal use one could make photo collages, inspirational posters, invitations, announcements, etc. Overall, I think Canva is great and versatile. I think students and others could learn well from this app because it allows one to share and learn in creative ways. Some pros include that it has a variety of free designs and templates. It is also very easy to use and can make anyone feel creative. Although I think this app is great, I also encountered a few cons. Sometimes while using Canva it was hard to get things positioned exactly where I wanted them to be (usually trying to send a background or picture to the back or front of something else). Also, the more I use it, I may feel the need to buy more templates and designs so I continue to have a variety to choose from. |
